About the Role

Nature informed therapists are mental health professionals who embrace principles of ecopsychology. At the Center for Nature Informed Therapy, we believe that reconnecting to nature can improve mental health while encouraging people to uncover new solutions to long-standing mental health challenges. We are seeking to add to our team of nature informed therapists. 


Therapist Job Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients. 


  • Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders. 


  • Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. 


  • Meets with clients indoors and outdoors regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.


  • Conducts ongoing assessments of client progress. 


  • Maintains thorough records of client meetings and progress. 


  • Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Potential for leadership role with the Center for Nature Informed Therapy.

Requirements

Therapist Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience working with and a continued desire to work clinically with children and families


  • Strong interest in integration of nature and the outdoors into the clinical practice


  • Excellent communication and listening skills


  • Ability to build rapport quickly


  • Team oriented work style


  • Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy


  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field


  • 1-2 years experience providing psychotherapy to children under the age of 12 and their families


  • Current with all state licensing requirements, LG/LM and LC level clinicians welcome.


  • Certified Nature Informed Therapist or willingness to complete the Certification Program in Nature Informed Therapy.
