Nature Informed Therapy for School Counselors

Engage in an introductory in-depth session on using the outdoors for school counseling
using nature informed therapy. Many mental health professionals are seeing the benefits of
incorporating the natural world into their practices. Yet, you may feel unsure of the logistics of taking
your student outside, limiting the potential for additional healing opportunities for the student. Nature
Informed Therapy methods are now being used for treating depression and anxiety and is clinically
shown to benefit human physical and emotional well-being. This 6-hour (4 hours in person, 2 hours
asynchronous) experiential workshop will introduce Nature Informed Therapy practices and
demonstrate techniques for offering these in a school environment.
