About the Program
Summer is a time for warmth and expansion, as plants and animals in our region are at their most productive. We too, can open up to the healing powers of the natural world by intentionally connecting to ourselves and other.s Come join Mira and Phillip in a 1.5 hour event that invites the healing powers of nature to improve mental health and wellbeing through the practices of yoga and mindful walking. This event will include yoga/mindful movement and a guided, nature-informed mindfulness walk. It will conclude with a final sharing circle. No experience is needed. This is a donation-based event, with a sliding scale suggested donation of $20-$60. Bring a yoga mat or beach towel, lawn chair or cushion, and a water bottle. Age 16+ All are welcome.
Your Instructor
Mira Tessman

Mira is an experienced vipassana meditation teacher and began meditating in 1995. She is a licensed clinical psychotherapist since 1996 and works in a private practice. Mira became certified as a yoga therapist in 2017. She also started teaching hatha yoga in 2009. She began teaching Insight Meditation with the IMCW sangha in Baltimore in 2013 as a guest teacher and as an associate teacher in 2016.
Mira has completed numerous meditation training including with the Centers for: Mindful Awareness, Mind Body Medicine, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Samyama Healing Meditation. Additionally, she has attended numerous meditation retreats around the U.S.
Phillip McKnight
Phillip McKnight completed a two-year training program for teaching awareness and compassion-based practices accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association. Phillip has experience teaching a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, and abilities and uses his MA in Instructional Systems Design to determine the needs of the participant and help them develop skills in mindfulness meditation with tools for body, heart, mind, and community.
